We are husband and wife, Seattle based photographers.

We shoot all kinds of events such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, auctions, and portraits and commercial /real estate.

We recently added Photo Booth – not just a tiny. Not just a tiny, because it is an open booth with portrait lighting.

J11About Joel

I have years of experience working with children as a teacher, counselor, and school psychologist. But I have always been writing and photographing. I think my first photographs were published in East Magazine around 1970. I had traveled to the mountainous hot spring region of Niigata, Japan in snowy winter to visit the Snow Country of Yasunari Kawabata’s novel by that name.

About Hitomi

HitomiMy passion for photography began when I discovered the microscopic world of plants. I enjoy capturing tiny universes within nature. Gradually, I also became interested in shooting insects. From that point, I started shooting flying or moving subjects. Surprisingly, this made me less afraid of birds. 😀

My event photography debut happened when my friend, David Lasky,  asked Joel to shoot his comic class at 826 Seattle. I took Joel’s place, because he wasn’t available on that day.  I never used to shoot with flash back then,  so I quickly learned how from him. Everyone seemed to be satisfied with images I shot, so I began to join Joel –first as his assistant, and then as his partner.
