High Pass

1. In the Layer Palette, click "More", the dropdown menu and select “Duplicate layer”.


2. Duplicate the background layer and name it hp for high pass or hp.

.

Be sure hp layer is selected. View the image at 100%.



3. In the Layer Palette scroll down from Normal to select Overlay.



4. The image will look contrasty.



5. Under Filter, Other, select High Pass.


6. Preview box should be checked.
Move the slider to the right to sharpen the image.
If you uncheck Preview, you can preview the image before you sharpened with high pass.


7. To see the effect after you click "OK", in the Layer Palette click the eye to the left of the High Pass layer on and off.
